September 20, 2018

The iconic Rolex Daytona. Recognizable and admired, forever joined in name and function to the high-performance world of motor sport. Originally it did not start out as the Daytona. The 1955 version, the Reference 6234 was labeled the “Rolex Chronograph”. It is the the first recognizable version of the watch that would come to be known as the Daytona, and it is estimated that only 500 were made each year between 1955 and 1961. Launched in 1963, the Daytona is the direct decedent of the first Chronograph released by RolexDesigned to meet the demands of professional racing drivers. A highly reliable chronograph with tachometer engraved bezel, it allows drivers to perfectly measure average speeds up to 400 kilometers or miles per hour. But it won’t stop us from wearing this beautiful timepiece, sticking to the speed limit.
